The Eureka Reporter ran a short article about Zero Motorcycles.

You just plug it into an outlet and it takes two hours to charge. Most of the cars take 10 to 12 hours,” Bermers said. Once charged, the street-legal model goes for 60 miles and the off-road goes for about 40, Bermers said. “They say it will only cost you less than one cent per mile to drive.”

Sounds good to me. Read the whole article here.

Picture 3_th.jpgOther websites are calling this a motorcycle. It’s not really a motorcycle, it does have peddles and you must keep peddling at all times which sort of means it’s a bicycle. The website claims a range of around 37 miles. But then, can’t you just keep peddling? You know, like on a bicycle? The eROCKIT from the German company ErockIT GmbH has a silly name but it has a top speed of 50mph from it’s 13hp motor. It weighs in at around 240lbs and should be available in very limited quantities some time in 2009. The expected price of $36,000 will lessen the chances you’ll be commuting on it.
