EMXGP rescheduled to October 2010

Zero-emission car and motorcycle event to be moved to bigger and better venue
ORGANISERS BEHIND the EMXGP zero-emission racing event for cars and motorcycles, due to be launched during the GP-Elec event this June in partnership with the City of Levallois, Paris, is to be rescheduled to mid-October 2010 and relocated to ‘an alternative’ major European city.
The original event was set to feature electric car racing, as well as providing a demonstration platform for zero-emission motorcycle racing. EMXGP say the new venue will create a greater event – organisers are looking at the move as a step forward, rather than a postponement.
The organisation say the change in plans will ‘allow all the participating teams more time to build, as well as allow EMXGP to create a much bigger and more useful event; integrating the launch of EMXGP into a larger programme of zero carbon racing and a carbon conference to examine the wider energy crisis and every day green technology solutions.’
EMXGP claim the revised plan would have’ major benefits for the teams as well as commercial partners, sponsors and the EV industry as a whole.’
The organisation are set to unveil plans for the new event next week.
